• Prof. Ajit Pratap Singh has been appointed as the special invited member of the Academic Council of Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, for the AY 2026–27.
• Shabnum Masood (Research Scholar) received the Best Doctoral Colloquium – Oral Presentation Award at the 10th International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Project Management (ICCRIP 2026), held at NICMAR University, Pune. Shabnum presented her doctoral research on the development of sustainable alkali-activated binders using mixed construction and demolition waste (M-CDW). She is pursuing her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dipendu Bhunia, BITS Pilani, as part of the BITS–RMIT Joint PhD Program, in collaboration with Prof. Kevin Zhang and Prof. Chamila Gunasekara of RMIT University, Australia.
• Dr. Hussain Shaik, alumnus of the Department of Civil Engineering, BITS Pilani, has joined Louisiana Tech University, USA, as an Assistant Professor. Prof. Hussain Shaik was associated with BITS Pilani from November 2014 to December 2017 and worked under the supervision of Prof. Dipendu Bhunia and Prof. Shamsher Bahadur Singh.
• The Department of Civil Engineering, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, was proud to be an Academic Partner for ICCRIP 2026, the 10th International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Project Management, held on 21–22 August 2026. Prof. Dipendu Bhunia, Prof. Anshuman Srivastava, and Prof. Rajiv Gupta served on the Conference Advisory Committee.
• Prof. Kamalesh Kumar was awarded the Bright Wall of Fame: Top 50 Eminent Faculty in Higher Education 2026 and the Best Faculty Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to academics and research by the Bright International Academy, Tamil Nadu, during an online event held on 7 August 2026.

6. Invited Talks

• Prof. Dipendu Bhunia was invited as the Distinguished Speaker at AMDAR 2026 – Advanced Materials for Defence & Aerospace Research. Prof. Bhunia delivered a lecture titled “A Journey towards Sustainable Structural Engineering” on 30 August 2026. The lecture was organized by Matsolvion Private Limited and held online.
• Prof. Dipendu Bhunia was invited as the Distinguished Speaker at the inaugural edition of CIVIL-X: The Mind. The Journey. The Impact. Prof. Bhunia delivered a lecture titled “Advancing Earthquake-Resilient Infrastructure through Seismic Analysis, Design and Strengthening” on 30 August 2026. The lecture was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad, Haryana, and was held online.

7. Miscellaneous

• The Civil Engineering Association organized an alumni interaction with Darshit Agrawal (2021), M.Tech student at IIT Delhi, on higher studies and career opportunities for Civil Engineers. The interaction was led by Vardaan Pachnanda, Head of Alumni and Outreach.
