We are delighted to share that Shabnum Masood, PhD Research Scholar at department of Civil Engineering BITS Pilani, has been honoured with the Best Doctoral Colloquium : Oral Presentation Award at the 10th International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Project Management (ICCRIP 2026), held at NICMAR University, Pune.

Shabnum presented her doctoral research on the development of sustainable alkali-activated binders using mixed construction and demolition waste (M-CDW). Her research explores innovative approaches for transforming heterogeneous construction waste into value-added construction materials, contributing to the broader goals of sustainable construction, resource recovery, and the circular economy.

The award recognises her research contribution and excellence in presenting her doctoral work before an expert academic and professional audience.

She is pursuing her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dipendu Bhunia, BITS Pilani, as part of the BITS - RMIT Joint PhD Program, in collaboration with Prof. Kevin Zhang and Prof. Chamila Gunasekara of RMIT University, Australia.

This achievement is a proud moment for the research group and reflects her continued dedication and commitment to advancing sustainable construction materials research.
