Salient features of BITSAT-2023

  • A candidate may appear a maximum of two times in BITSAT-2023.
  • The examination will be organized in two sets of dates, BITSAT Session 1 (22nd May to 26th May 2023) and BITSAT Session 2 (18th June to 22nd June 2023). 
  • The candidate can choose the Center, the Day, and slot of his/her convenience to take the test, as described in the BITSAT-2023 brochure. 
  • A candidate may opt to appear twice, even at the time of the first application. Such a candidate will then choose one slot from the first set of dates and another from the second. 
  • A candidate may opt for any session ‘1’ or ‘2’ or ‘BOTH’. 
  • The student who do not apply/appear in Session 1 can also apply to appear in Session 2 during the second application window from 23rd May to 12th June 2023. 
  • The application window will reopen immediately for Session 2 after the first date of Session 1 of BITSAT. 
  • A candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate). 
  • A candidate who opts to appear once (Session 1 or Session 2), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). 
  • If a candidate who opts to appear to Session 1 only, chooses then to apply separately to appear a second time (Session 2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate). 
  • The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. 
  • For a candidate who has appeared twice in BITSAT-2023, and then seeks admission to any of the First Degree programmes in BITS Pilani, the higher of the two scores will be considered for admission.

Procedure to apply for admission in BITS
In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT-2023, candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS giving details of their 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered at three Indian campuses of BITS. The prescribed application form for admission, the detailed application procedure, details of academic flexibilities such as Dual Degree, Transfer, etc.; admission modality, and the final list of degree programmes offered will be made available at the BITS admission website, tentatively in July 2022. The completed application form with the details of their 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes along with the required application fee has to be submitted online at the BITS admission website on or before August 31, 2023.
How to apply for writing BITSAT-2023?
Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2023 by applying in the prescribed application form online. A candidate has to complete the application form online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees. Also, take the printout of the filled-in form for your future reference. As this time BITSAT shall be conducted in two sessions, the prescribed fee for BITSAT-2023 for a candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate). A candidate who originally opts to appear once (Session 1), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). If such a candidate chooses then to apply to appear a second time (Session 2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate). These fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center for session 1 only then the application fee for both male and female candidates will be Rs. 7000 (in INR). No, you need not to apply separately for any of the three campuses.
What is the Eligibility Criteria to take the undergraduate admission in BITS?

The candidate should have minimum 75% or more in PCM/PCB in aggregate and minimum 60% or more in individual subjects (PCM/PCB) in 12th class. No. The candidate should have minimum 75% or more in PCM/PCB in aggregate and minimum 60% or more in individual subjects (PCM/PCB) in 12th class.

I have taken Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2. Am I eligible to apply for BITSAT?

Candidates can write BITSAT exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2. However, they will be eligible to apply only for the B. Pharm. program. They will not be eligible for any other first-degree programme of the Institute.

I have taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. Am I eligible to apply for B.Pharm. Programme?

Yes, you are eligible to apply for B.Pharm. and any other First Degree programme of the institute.

My 12th exam results are not expected before 30th June 2023. Should I apply for BITSAT?
For admissions to First Degree Programme 2023-24 starting in August/September, you should have your result before 23 June, 2023. Keeping that in mind, you may appear in BITSAT exam.
I passed 12th in 2023. I didn't get 75% aggregate in PCM. Am I eligible if I repeat some of the subjects to get the required percentage as per the eligibility criteria?

If you are repeating 12th exam, you should do it for all the subjects to pass 12th again as mentioned in the BITSAT brochure. If you take improvement exams in PCM/PCB only or only in few subject/s, you are not eligible.

As advertised, you are eligible to apply for BITSAT-2023.

I passed 12th exam in 2021. Am I eligible to apply for BITSAT-2023?

No. The candidate who passed his/her 12th board examination in 2022 and passing out in 2023 are only eligible to apply for BITSAT-2023. To appear in BITSAT, the students who passed or who appeared their 12th class in the current academic year and who passed their 12th class in the previous academic year are only eligible.

I had appeared in BITSAT-2022 but my marks were below the cut-off marks. Can I appear in BITSAT-2023?

Yes, as advertised, subject to eligibility conditions you can apply again for BITSAT-2023.

I have passed 12th in the year 2021 (or earlier). I am now doing my higher studies (B.Sc./B.E./Diploma) in another college. Can I apply for BITSAT-2023?

You are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2023.

I am unable to access the online application. Can you send the application form by email or post?
I have completed the online application. But, I have not taken a printout. How can I get a printout now?

You can go to the Online Application Page again and enter the login credentials. You will be taken to the printout page again.

I forgot my application number. How can I get it now?

After the registration, you receive an email to your registered email id with the application number.

By mistake the email of my application number got deleted. How can I retrieve my application number?

In case you have missed the email then you can send an email requesting for application number to the above mentioned email id. The mail should be sent from your registered email id only.

I have made multiple payments for single application because of connection error. How will I get back my extra amount?

If you have made multiple payments towards BITSAT application fee for an application, Institute will refund the extra amount. You have to provide your bank details to claim this amount through the online link. The link will be provided to your registered email id.

I have made a mistake while entering some data in my application form. How can I edit/correct it?
I have applied for both the sessions of BITSAT-2023. I could not attend the Session 1 of BITSAT-2023, will I be eligible to attend the Session-2?

Yes. Hence you have applied for BOTH the sessions, you are eligible to attend the Session-2 of BITSAT-2023. Your score of Session 2 will be considered for the admission process.

I have only applied for Session 1 of BITSAT-2023. I could not attend the session 1. Am I eligible to apply for Session-2 during the application window mentioned in the brochure?

Are there any admissions for lateral position?

No. BITS do not have lateral entry admissions.

Is there any Management Seat?

No. BITS Pilani do not offer admissions on the basis of management quota.

Do you have any reservation for admissions?

No. BITS Pilani do not have any kind of reservations.

How am I eligible for admission to M.Sc. programmes after 12th?

The M.Sc. programmes are 4-year integrated programmes after 12th. There is no intermediate B.Sc. degree awarded.

What is a Dual Degree? How is it assigned to a particular student and when?

BITS Pilani has created provisions by which, any student who is admitted to a particular M.Sc. program (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics), is accommodated in a dual degree scheme, with a second degree in available B.E. programs. The assignment of the second degree in B.E. for the M.Sc. students is announced generally at the completion of their first year courses. The allotment process to a particular B.E. stream, is purely on the basis of the academic performances of the students in the 1st year at BITS and the number of seats available in that particular programme.

BITS Pilani has created provisions by which, any student who is admitted to a particular M.Sc. program (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics), is accommodated in a dual degree scheme, with a second degree in available B.E. programs. The assignment of the second degree in B.E. for the M.Sc. students is announced generally at the completion of their first year courses. The allotment process to a particular B.E. stream, is purely on the basis of the academic performances of the students in the 1st year at BITS and the number of seats available in that particular programme. If a student is admitted to a second degree programme under dual degree scheme, he/she has to pay the admission fees of the second programme, separately, at the time of such admission is made. The curriculum for such dual degree students are designed in such a way, that the students will complete all the formalities required for both the degrees, normally in five years.

Are the students admitted in B.Pharm. with PCM and/or PCB input, also eligible to apply for the dual degree?

There will be restrictions on the availability of flexibility such as transfer and dual degree allotment for students admitted to B. Pharm. programme with PCB input. Since all the first degree programmes other than B. Pharm. programme requires PCM input, no transfer/dual degree allotment is possible with PCB input.

Is there any 2-year M.Sc. Program at BITS Pilani?

No. There is no 2 year M.Sc. Program offered at BITS Pilani, currently.

How a candidate is eligible to take admission to M.Sc. Programmes in BITS after their 12th class, without B.Sc.?

The M.Sc. programmes are 4-year integrated programmes after 12th class, covering the curriculum required for both B.Sc and M.Sc. There is no intermediate B.Sc. degree awarded.

I have completed my 12th Class with PCB. Can I apply for M.Sc. Biology as the first degree programme or PCM input is mandatory?

PCM input is mandatory. The students who are admitted in M.Sc. courses will be given a provision to take the admission in another B.E. course at the end of the 1st year, known as dual degree, which requires Mathematics as one of the subjects in their 12th Class.

I have completed 12th class from NIOS board. Am I eligible to take the admission in BITS?

Yes, if you have appeared in all the components of 12th Board Examination of NIOS you are eligible to apply for admissions to BITS Pilani.

BITS Pilani consider the JEE Mains score for admissions?

No, BITS Pilani do not consider the JEE Mains score for admission. Its admissions are based on the BITSAT score.

What is the application procedure for NRIs?

There is no separate procedure for NRIs. However, those candidates who have citizenship other than INDIA can apply under International Students Admissions Scheme. For more details Click Here

What is the application procedure for candidates with foreign qualifications?

There is no separate procedure for those candidates who wish to be admitted through BITSAT. They have to apply similar to Indian students and to provide an equivalence certificate from AIU at the time of applying for Admissions later.

I am NRI student, am I eligible to apply through BITS ISA window?

The candidate who wants to apply through BITS ISA window should be holding a passport and citizenship of the country, other than India.

What is the eligibility criteria for the admission under ‘Direct Admission to Board Topper Scheme’?

This offer of admission is open only to the student(s) who has/have obtained the first rank in a State or central Board, as per the announcement by the concerned State or Central Board.

Presently I am studying in one of the BITS campuses, am I eligible to apply for BITSAT-2023?

No. The students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to apply for BITSAT-2023.

If you have completed your application by making the payment, then you cannot select 'BOTH' option now.
