The Department of Civil Engineering offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs, with emphasis on fundamental theory and practice in Civil Engineering, keeping in view the current and continuously changing scenarios in this discipline. The department runs postgraduate programs in Structural and Transportation Engineering. The broad spectrum of courses is taught by a group of highly-experienced faculty who are also researchers in their own areas. The syllabus, rigorous in design and content, is in keeping with the latest developments in the industry. Well-equipped laboratories, coupled with extensive practical work, ensure the student receives a well-rounded education.
In addition to teaching and instruction, the faculty is also engaged in active research with an aim to generate innovative concepts and ideas or apply the existing technologies to new applications. The department has a number of ongoing/completed/applied research projects and industrial consultancy work from various agencies. The Department disseminates the knowledge gained from its high quality research through training programs and interacts with world renowned personalities through workshops and conferences.
Our faculty have extensive experience in industry, research as well as teaching. Our strength is a reflection of their skills, innovation, and drive.
