The Department of Civil Engineering, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, is delighted to welcome Prof. Ravindra Dwivedi as our Professor of Practice.
Prof. Dwivedi brings with him an exceptional professional journey spanning more than 31 years of cross-functional leadership across renowned organizations, including Mott MacDonald, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), and Indian Railways. His extensive experience in infrastructure development, project management, business operations, and international consultancy will greatly enrich the academic and research environment of our department.

During his distinguished tenure of nearly 16 years at Mott MacDonald, a leading global engineering, management, and development consultancy headquartered in the United Kingdom, Prof. Dwivedi served as Senior Vice President – International Development. In this capacity, he successfully led diverse business portfolios and operations while serving as Project Director for several complex infrastructure projects and programmes across multiple sectors.

Prof. Dwivedi completed his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, M.Tech. from MANIT Bhopal, and MBA from PDEU, Gandhinagar, where he was awarded the University Silver Medal. He has further enhanced his leadership capabilities through the Management Development Programme (MDP) at IIM Ahmedabad and is also a PRINCE2® Registered Practitioner in Project Management.

We are confident that his rich blend of industry expertise, strategic leadership, and commitment to excellence will significantly strengthen industry-academia collaboration, inspire our students and researchers, and contribute to advancing education, innovation, and impactful research in Civil Engineering.
