Ms. Sonam Priya, PhD Scholar from the Department of Economics and Finance, BITS Pilani-Hyderabad Campus, has been awarded the prestigious Bayer Foundation Fellowship 2026 for her research in the field of Climate and Health. As part of this fellowship, she will undertake her research for up to six months at The University of Göttingen, Germany, providing an excellent opportunity to collaborate with researchers internationally and advance her work at the intersection of climate change, extreme weather events, and health outcomes.

Ms. Anandita Mitro, PhD scholar, has won the First Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Women 5.0: Power, Progress and Possibilities, held on 11th–12th December, organised by at Centre for Women Development, IFHE Hyderabad and Centre for Women Studies, University of Hyderabad, for her paper titled: “Maternal Universal Healthcare Coverage in India: A Bayesian Analysis using NFHS/NSS Data.”

Ms. Soumya Sucharita Panda , PhD scholar received travel grant and presented her work titled "A Cross-Country Analysis of the Impact of Climate Change Adaptation on Agriculture” at the prestigious International Society of Ecological Modeling Conference, held in Kashiwa from 19 to 23 October 2025

Ms. Pavani Prabha, PhD Scholar at BITS Pilani Hyderabad got the best doctoral work award and Research Support Grant of ₹50,000 at the 2nd Doctoral Colloquium 2025, organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad.

Ms. Ummuhabeeba Chaliyan, PhD scholar got IWWAGE fellowship award for conference paper based on her thesis work on Trade, Global Value Chains, Finance, and Women's Employment in BRICS. She presented the paper along with her supervisor Prof. Mini Thomas.

Ms. Amrita Pani, PhD scholar received travel grant and presented her work titled "An Insight into the Emission in the Global South: A Case Study on the Impact of Vehicular Emissions on Health with reference to India", co-authored with another scholar Salva K and Prof. Rishi Kumar at the Urban Transitions 2024 conference, organized by Elsevier in Barcelona, Spain.

Prof. Rishi Kumar, the Head of the Department of Economics and Finance, BITS Pilani-Hyderabad Campus was awarded "Inspirational Teaching Award" on the occasion of Teachers' Day 2024.
