In view of the various high value research grants such as SATHI, PURSE, BioCyTIH, BUILDER, and Project VISTAR, there are many planned construction activities at Pilani campus to create infrastructures such as student accommodations, staff accommodations, research facilities, classroom expansion under Project VISTAR along with other annual budgeted projects.  To efficiently support and monitor the project activities to develop efficient, durable, and sustainable infrastructure systems, the Division of Infrastructure and Planning at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus was recently created in June 2024. The activities of the division are overseen by the Dean of Infrastructure and Planning with support of project engineers, site engineers, estate management unit, and office staffs. The main activities of the division of infrastructure and planning primarily consists of taking care of the various institutional large as well as small projects.  Some of the activities are given below.

1. Tendering of infrastructure projects such as SATHI, Animal House, Pilani Convention Centre, etc and overseeing the construction work to ensure timely completion of these projects with required quality of construction.
2. Preparing and designing for the expansions concerning infrastructure enhancement at the campus under Project VISTAR and providing institutional support for development of Vistar projects and other capex related projects at Pilani Campus.
3. Monitor new planned buildings under Project VISTAR and annual budgeted construction works.
4. Refurbishment and enhancement of campus housing for Students/Staff/Faculty Members
5. Upgrading and revamping all campus facilities and amenities
6. Managing utility services
7. Construction and planning and Implementing environment-friendly measures for a green campus
8. Collaborating with external agencies on construction and renovation matters
9. Engaging with local and central government authorities on regulatory concerns
10. Developing digital Infrastructure
11. Any other tasks assigned by Institute Leadership related to Infrastructure

The Dean of Infrastructure and Planning (Dean IP) holds complete accountability for developing new Infrastructure and upkeep of existing civil structures within the BITS Pilani-Pilani Campus. This encompasses all academic buildings, student residential hostels, various types of staff accommodations, facilities buildings, etc. for the entire campus.  Details of ongoing institutional projects of national importance are given below.
