 Young Scientist Travel Grant by Controlled Release Society (CRS) 2025 

We are happy to share that Ms. Sonia Guha, a 4th-year Ph.D. scholar from the Department of Pharmacy, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, working under the supervision of Prof. Deepak Chitkara, participated in the Controlled Release Society (CRS) 2025 Annual Meeting and Exposition, held in Philadelphia, USA, from July 14–18, 2025.

This prestigious international conference brought together over 1,200 global participants, including renowned scientists, industry leaders, and emerging researchers in the field of drug delivery and pharmaceutical sciences.

She was awarded the 2025 Local Chapter Young Scientist Travel Grant by the Controlled Release Society in recognition of her promising research contributions. Additionally, her work was shortlisted by Merck among the Top 20 Best Scientific Contributions by Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers.

She delivered an oral presentation in the 2025 Controlled Release Society Ocular Delivery Focus Group, titled “CRISPR-Cas Delivery Using Lipid-Polymer Nanoplexes in Microneedle Patches for Corneal Dystrophy,” which showcased a cutting-edge, non-viral gene delivery approach for the treatment of corneal disorders.

 

In recognition of her impactful research, she was also conferred the prestigious “Trainee Award” by the Ocular Delivery Focus Group of the Controlled Release Society, during the conference session presented by REGENERON – Science to Medicine, for her outstanding contributions to the field of ocular drug delivery.
