BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus Celebrates Research Excellence on National Science Day

On the occasion of National Science Day 2026, BITS Pilani hosted its university-level Research Awards Ceremony at the Hyderabad campus with live streaming across all BITS Campuses on 28th February 2026.  Dr. Prakash Chauhan, Director, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address.

 

Three faculty members from BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, received the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Awards, an institute-wide recognition of exceptional research excellence.

1.      Prof. Ranjan Dey (Department of Chemistry) was honoured for Highly Cited Paper in the Last 5 Years [STEM];

2.    Prof. Rajiv Kumar Chaturvedi (Department of Humanities and Social Sciences) received the award for Best Paper in a High Impact Factor Journal [Non-STEM]; and

3.      Prof. Narendra Nath Ghosh (Department of Chemistry) was recognised with the Most Consistent Researcher Award.

These awards were presented in person at the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus.

 

At the campus level, five faculty members were conferred the Director’s Awards at the Goa Campus.

1.      Prof. Mainak Banerjee (Chemistry) received the award for Highly Cited Paper [STEM];

2.      Prof. Tushar Sakorikar (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) for Best Review Paper [STEM];

3.      Prof. Swastibrata Bhattacharyya (Physics) for Best Paper in a High Impact Factor Journal [STEM];

4.      Prof. Subhadeep Banerjee (Chemistry) for the Technology Development Award; and

5.      Prof. Indrakshi Raychowdhury (Physics) for the Young Investigator Award.

 

These recognitions underscore the strong research culture at the Goa Campus and reaffirm its commitment to impactful scholarship, innovation, and sustained excellence across disciplines.
