

As part of Seva Pakhwada, the Anti-Narcotic Police Station, Goa Police, under the guidance of DIG/Range and overall supervision of SP ANC, Smt. Sunita Sawant, organized a special awareness program at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus.
With the presence of senior officers and the active participation of over 1,000 students and faculty, the session created strong awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its impact on careers and families, and the threat of narco-terrorism.
SP ANC, Smt. Sunita Sawant, sensitized students on the ill effects of drug abuse and stressed on making BITS Pilani a drug-free campus. DySP ANC, Shri. Nerlon Albuquerque, encouraged students to cope with stress through healthier alternatives, while PSI Shri. Dindayal Redkar highlighted types of commonly abused drugs, their consequences, and the proactive role of ANC Goa in curbing the menace. Students were also informed about the Manas Helpline 1933 for mental health support and reporting cases.
The program concluded with the Director of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus Prof. Suman Kundu leading the students in taking a solemn oath:
Faculty and students together pledged: “NO TO DRUGS, YES TO LIFE!”
The overwhelming response strengthens the resolve to build a drug-free, safe, and healthy society.
