Siddharth Mehta selected for World Youth Forum

Siddharth Mehta, a third-year student at BITS Pilani- Pilani Campus, has been chosen among the 25 member contingent to represent India at the World Youth Forum 2018, to be held at Egypt in November.

This event is one of a kind where young leaders from over 160 countries unite, exchange views and recommend initiatives to decision-makers and influential figures. The Indian Contingent was led by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports- Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in last year’s edition.

Siddharth has driven initiatives to strengthen the financial system on campus and brought about transparency in the id card transactions. Its efficient execution resulted in the administration adopting that system. He is a member of Team Pixxel, which is participating in the IBM Watson AI Xprize Competition, and aiming towards launching India’s first private constellation of nanosatellites & backing it with AI to make predictions from satellite imagery. He has also been a part of the core contingent of team Hyperloop India that represented the country at SpaceX Headquarters in California. His involvement in ventures like these was appraised and acclaimed, resulting in his nomination.
