Randomness is everywhere—from dice rolls to decision-making systems. This talk introduces the foundational concepts of probability, starting with random variables and building up to stochastic processes.
We focus on one of the most widely used models to study system dynamics: the Markov chain. Through relatable examples, we explore what a Markov chain is and examine some of its key properties.
Ms. Ashwini S is a research scholar in the Department of Mathematics. Her areas of interest include queueing theory, probability theory, stochastic processes, and mathematical modelling.
