
The Department of Pharmacy, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, successfully organized the International Conference on “Challenges in Drug Discovery and Delivery (ICCD3-26)”, in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacological Society, from February 16–18, 2026.
The three-day international conference concluded on a high note after engaging sessions marked by insightful discussions, scientific exchange, and collaborative engagement among researchers and experts.
Organized under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramgopal Rao and Director Prof. Sudhir Kumar Barain, the conference brought together eminent scientists, clinicians, policymakers, and young researchers from across India and abroad, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue in pharmaceutical sciences and translational research.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Dean Administration, the Registrar, Prof. A. P. Singh, and Prof. Rajeev Taliyan, HoD, along with esteemed faculty members. Distinguished dignitaries included Prof. Babul K. Bezbaruah, President of the Indian Pharmacological Society and Prof. Prakash V. Diwan, Founder Director of NIPER Hyderabad. Senior government officials such as Dr. Gurram Harish Kumar, Scientist ‘F’, Department of Science and Technology, and Dr. Onkar Nath Tiwari, Scientist ‘F’, Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi, were also present.
The conference featured distinguished international speakers, including Dr. Rajiah Aldrin Denny, Founder & CEO, Medizen Inc, and Chief Scientific Advisor, Receptor.AI, who shared insights on AI-driven drug discovery and translational innovation.
Another eminent international expert, Prof. S. S. Vasan, Honorary Professor at Edith Cowan University and Director of R&D at NHS Grampian, delivered a thought-provoking lecture integrating clinical research, translational medicine, and global healthcare perspectives.
Over the course of three days, ICCD3-26 addressed cutting-edge themes including AI/ML in preclinical drug discovery, molecular neuroscience, molecular surgery, translational pharmacology, and advanced drug delivery systems. Keynote lectures and expert sessions were complemented by interactive discussions bridging fundamental research with clinical and industrial applications.
The successful organization of ICCD3-26 was made possible through the dedicated efforts of faculty colleagues, student volunteers, and non-teaching staff, whose meticulous planning, coordination, and teamwork ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
ICCD3-26 concluded successfully, fostering new collaborations, strengthening academic–industry linkages, and reaffirming a collective commitment to addressing global challenges in drug discovery and delivery.
