In observance of International Yoga Day 2026, the BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus community came together on 21 June 2026 to celebrate this year's global theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing."
The yoga session was conducted by Mr. Alok Singh, In-charge, Student Activity Centre (SAC), who guided participants through a series of yoga asanas, pranayama, stretching exercises, and mindfulness practices designed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, flexibility, and inner balance.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, staff, and their families, including young children, reflecting the campus community's shared commitment to embracing a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Addressing the gathering, the celebration highlighted the significance of integrating yoga into daily life as a simple yet powerful practice that contributes to overall wellness and supports healthy ageing. The session encouraged participants to adopt mindful habits that enhance both physical vitality and mental resilience.
The programme was graced by the presence and support of Prof. Suman Kundu, Director, BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus, and Prof. Meenal, Dean Administration, whose encouragement reinforced the institution's commitment to fostering a culture of holistic health and well-being within the campus community.
As BITS Pilani, Goa Campus continues to promote wellness through various initiatives, the celebration of International Yoga Day served as a reminder that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a way of life that nurtures harmony between the body, mind, and spirit.
"A healthy body, a calm mind, and a balanced life begin with small, consistent steps."
