Scope of the Lab

• In this Lab students have an hands on experience on various AC and DC machines.
• The performance characteristics, efficiency and regulation of each machines is computed by conducting suitable experiments.

Application Areas

• DC Shunt Motors: Lathe Machines, Centrifugal Pumps, Fans, Blowers, Conveyors, Lifts, Weaving Machine, Spinning machines, etc.
• DC Generators: steam turbines, gas turbines, water turbines, internal combustion engines and hand cranks.
• Synchronous motors are used to improve the power factor.
