ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) AT THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY BITS PILANI K K BIRLA GOA CAMPUS

 

There is an immediate opening for a JRF position in the project given below:

 

Name of the project: Development of high-performance supercapattery device: synthesis of novel electrode materials, electrolytes, and simulation study

 

Name of the Investigator: Prof Narendra Nath Ghosh, FRSC

Fellowship amount: Rs 34000/- per month

Minimum qualification: MSc Chemistry/ Physics (with minimum 60% marks)

The research fellow will get a chance to be admitted to PhD program of BITS Pilani with a scholarship (subject to passing the Ph.D. admission test).

The last date for submission of the application along with bio-data: is 14th September 2023 (Thursday).

In this project, the fellow will get a chance to learn different synthesis methodologies to prepare nanostructured materials, hands-on experience as well as interpretation of the data in different instrumental techniques, (such as XRD, Electrochemistry, FTIR, UV- Vis spectroscopy, FESEM, Raman Spectroscopy, etc.,).

 

About the Principal investigator: Prof Narendra Nath Ghosh:

Dr Narendra Nath Ghosh is a Professor at the Dept of Chemistry of BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry UK and a full invited member of Sigma Xi (USA).

He received his M.Sc. and PhD degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur, India. He has pursued his post-doctoral study in the Center for Composite Materials at the University of Delaware (USA), the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (USA) and the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department of the University of Kentucky at Lexington (USA). He is also a visiting professor at the University of Leeds (UK), Univ of Drexel (USA), and Univ of Tennessee  Knoxville (USA)

 

From 2020 to this year Prof Ghosh has been placed among the top 2% of most cited scientists in the world for both categories (“career-long database” and “single recent year database)”.

 

Dr. Ghosh has published more than 120 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals published by the American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), Elsevier, etc.

Till date, under Dr. Ghosh's guidance, 10 students have received their PhD degree and currently, two students are ongoing.
