What the role is?
Academic Associates work alongside faculty to strengthen teaching delivery, lab operations and student support – freeing faculty to focus on classroom teaching, research and curriculum work. It’s a non-tenured, full-time position open across all academic departments.
Instructional support
Assist with tutorials, assignments, assessments and grading
Help coordinate multi-section courses
Contribute to instructional material and teaching innovations
Lab management
Run lab instruction, viva sessions and demonstrations
Manage equipment, resources and safety compliance
Help design new experiments and lab modules
Student mentoring
Serve as an accessible bridge between students and faculty
Offer regular academic guidance and informal feedback
Support a student-centred learning environment

After 2 years of service, you may apply for part-time M.E. or Ph.D. programmes at BITS Pilani, subject to qualifying the entrance examination. Eligibility to apply doesn’t guarantee admission or sponsorship.

Pay & tenure at a glance
* Dearness Allowance and Provident Fund apply as per Institute norms; House Rent Allowance is 12.5% of consolidated pay. On-campus accommodation is not provided. The initial appointment is for 2 years, renewable annually based on performance, evaluated through faculty and student feedback.
The Recruitment Process
1. Initial Screening

2. Department Committee Shortlisting
A three-member department committee reviews and shortlists candidates on the basis of fitment of requirement.
3. Technical Interview (Audio-Visual only)
An audio-visual interview is conducted to assess the candidate for the role applied.
4. Final approval and Offer
Shortlisted recommendation go for final approval, and successful candidates are informed.
