Academic and Research Alumni Alliance (ARAA)
One alliance for a community that never had one.
BITS Pilani has sent its graduates into classrooms, laboratories, and research institutions around the globe. Many now hold faculty positions at top universities in India and abroad. Others lead research programs in government agencies, private R&D labs, foundations, and think tanks - shaping science, policy, and industry from within.
The Academic and Research Alumni Alliance (ARAA) brings this community together in one place: a dedicated platform where BITS Pilani alumni working in academia and research can reconnect with each other and their alma mater. These connections lead to mentorship, collaboration, and shared opportunity.
Why ARAA exists
To create a global network of BITSian scholars and researchers that fosters knowledge exchange, mentorship, research collaboration, and institutional partnerships — advancing the individual and collective impact of the BITS Pilani academic community.

Build a global community
Unite all BITS Pilani alumni focused on academia and research worldwide under a single alliance.
Maintain a living database
Keep a current, searchable, and mineable record of members — their institutions, fields, and areas of expertise — to make connections easy to find.
Create spaces to connect
Organize networking and relationship-building activities, such as colloquia, symposiums, and invited talks, bringing members into direct contact with each other and the Institute.
Surface collaborative opportunities
Give members a channel to post and discover opportunities for joint work — research projects, publications, academic partnerships.
Pursue funding together
Apply for joint research funding from government agencies, private organizations, and multilateral bodies, drawing on the network's combined strength.
Enable exchange and immersion
Create structured opportunities for alumni to visit BITS Pilani, and for faculty and students to interact with alumni at their home institutions.
Elevate BITS Pilani's standing
Improve the Institute's perception within the global academic and research community by showcasing its alumni's achievements and reach.
