• Where is the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus?

  The BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus is located in Jawaharnagar, Shameerpet Mandal on Karimnagar Highway, Hyderabad, Rangareddy District, Andhra Pradesh. It is approximately 25 kilometres from Secunderabad railway station, about 33 kilometers from Hyderabad railway station (Nampally)/ Imliban (Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station-MGBS) bus-station and about 70 km from Rajiv Gandhi international airport, Shamshabad.

• How do you reach the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus?

  From the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Shamshabad)

  There are regular bus services and cabs from the airport to Secunderabad Railway Station (see www.aeroexpress.com for details about the bus service). From the railway station one can take a bus for the campus.

  From the Railway Station

  From Secunderabad railway station to BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus one has to travel 22 KM on Rajiv Rahadari/ Karim Nagar Highway, up to Dongala Mysamma junction after Alankruta Resorts in Thumkunta Village and take a right turn towards Ghatkesar. After travelling 1.5 KMs on this road, there is again a diversion to the right leading to the Campus. BITS? sign boards indicating the directions are available on the way.

  There is a direct Bus No. 212 from Secunderabad Railway station (Gurudwara Point) to BITS-Pilani Hyderabad Campus Main Gate Besides there are City Buses having numbers 211S, 211A, 211C, 211D, 211E, 211J, 211K, 211T, 211U, 567, 568, 569 fly from Secunderabad Railway Station to various destinations to the Campus side. Further, there are many APSRTC buses from Secunderabad, Jubilee bus-stand to KarimNagar, Siddhipet,Ramagundam,Gajwel, Cheriyal etc. People can board any of these buses, get down either at Thumkunta or Dongala Mysamma junction which is 1KM away and take an auto to the campus.

• What do the following abbreviations stand for?

• What are the extra curricular activities at the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus?

  We have a shopping market in campus which is also a place of hang-out for students. Besides, there are various recreational clubs in campus for the students. The campus is surrounded by thick forestation and is home to various species of birds and insects besides being in the vicinity of a beautiful lake. Hence, there are many places for nature-lovers to see.

• Where do I buy my books from?

  There is a bookstore in campus where students can find books as well as other stationary items they require.

• I would like to know about the library at the Institute.

  The library in the Hyderabad Campus is a new building spread over 45,000 sq. ft and two floors and a seating capacity of over 400.

  The library has a collection of 16000+books and subscribes to over 115 Indian and 60 foreign periodicals.  Students can have access to over 3500+ e journals. We subscribe to 24x7 e- books database where students and faculty members can have access to over 15000+ e books.

• Is BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus accredited?

  Yes, it is one of the four campuses of BITS Pilani. It has been accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade with a CGPA of 3.71.

• I would like to know about the weather at Hyderabad.

  Hyderabad is a landlocked city with the famous Deccan rocks. The city never gets very cold. The temperature by and large remains moderate throughout the year except for a short spell of summer when the temperature touches 440 C. The temperature in the city is as follows:

  Summer Temperature 200 C - 410 C
  Winter 130 C - 320 C

  Rainy season is June to September
  Winter season October to January
  Summer season February to May.

• What are the various communication facilities available in the campus?

  Internet connectivity has been provided in all hostel rooms. The campus has 90 Mbps leased line.
