Mekhla Salkar holds a Bachelor's degree in English (honors) from Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, and a Master's degree in English from Govt. College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Sanquelim, affiliated to Goa University. Her areas of interest include indigenous cultures, oral narratives, and gender studies. Mekhla has cleared UGC-NET and Maharashtra and Goa SET examinations for Assistant Professor in English. She is also passionate about storytelling and dabbles in creative writing, poetry, and the performing arts. She is currently pursuing doctoral research in the field of literature and cultural studies, with a focus on the indigenous communities of Goa. Her professional aspirations lie in teaching, and she wishes to become an educator in the field of Humanities.
