Practice School Division

While the increase in student intake (over the last couple of years) at the Institute has led to an increase in students, opting for the Practice School program, the industry expectations from the students aspiring to Practice has also changed significantly. The need therefore is to keep students apprised about industry expectations prior to their Practice period, continuing to expend efforts in counselling students with low CGPA, further strengthening our interaction with students, so as to facilitate the same learning experience for all our students and having one function within the Practice School, which can act like a “goto” place for the students. Keeping in the above points, the vision statement, mission statements and corresponding objectives have been highlighted.

To support students to realize their full potential to excel in the chosen area of PS.

  • To imbibe traits that are needed to excel during PS journey at the industry premises
  • To instill students with self-confidence to develop a well formed mind
  • To discuss with students with respect to their effective utilization of PS and also to guide them towards the right opportunities during Practice School
  • To enable all kinds of resources needed to make them to take informed decisions during PS preference form filling.
  • To create an awareness for frosh year students

Objectives to accomplish Mission one:

To imbibe traits that are needed to excel during PS journey at the industry premises

Target Audience: Students with CGPA 6 and below (prior to PS-I and PS-II)

  • To arrange focused group webinars/seminars/workshops by eminent experts
  • To have a customized take-away for different student groups
  • To keep track of all students and also to identify the measurable outcomes
  • To create a feedback mechanism to know the expectations of students towards their PS journey

Objectives to accomplish Mission two:

To instill students with self-confidence to develop a well formed mind

Target Audience: Students with CGPA 5.5 and below and day scholars (during 2nd year)

  • To Provide learning resources (if possible customized)
  • To involve them in few institutional activities (conferences/event organization)
  • To immerse them (immersion) for a few days to develop insights into the domains
  • To create centre for writing and speaking and also to help them develop rich and varied abilities in every aspect of writing and oral communication
  • To create scenario based “advisory resource toolkit”

Objectives to accomplish Mission three:

To discuss with students with respect to their effective utilization of PS and also to guide them towards the right opportunities during Practice School

Target Audience: Students opting for PS-II in the upcoming academic year

  • To create a structured team comprising domain experts to guide students during pre-final year
  • To develop a document about the possibility of overcoming potential pain points in acquiring good PS.

Objectives to accomplish Mission four:

To enable all kinds of resources needed to make them to take informed decisions

Target Audience: Students opting for PS-I and PS-II

  • To support students during Preference form filling (live support session)
  • To organize sessions to provide greater impetus about PS process
  • To create an appreciation about the possible importance of prior preparation
  • To decode the potential scenarios of professional career beyond PS
  • To enable the discussion channels with industry mentors to take informed decisions

Objectives to accomplish Mission five:

To create an awareness for frosh year students

Target Audience: Students during the first year

  • To highlight the importance of academics and its cascading impact in their graduation and beyond
  • To generate the possible road map with potential twists and turns during the academic journey
  • To enable the importance of correct decision making and thereby have an evocative feeling towards the academics and its potential realization of the desirous outcome.
