Four Students from BITS, Pilani, Pilani Campus Win Prestigious Avery Dennison Spirit of Invention Scholarship 2017 Awards

The Avery Dennison Foundation Spirit of Invention ‘InvEnt’ Scholarship Program has been designed to recognize and reward the ‘spirit of invention’ amongst entrepreneurial and high‐achieving students in the fields of science, engineering and technology at selected higher education institutions in India. This year, 10 students have been selected from five institutes and colleges in India, out of which four students of BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus have been selected for 2017 Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship Awards.

An impressive scholarship awards function was organized at Gurugram on September 4, 2017, which was well attended by past and present student winners, Avery Dennison team members, and faculty representatives from various institutes and colleges. A significant number of students of BITS, Pilani, Pilani Campus have also won these awards in the past. The selected Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) scholars will receive US $1,300 scholarship to be used in their second year of study. The Program is developed to nurture the inventive spirit of students and encourage them to continue in these fields after graduation, by helping them meet their financial needs during the period of their College attendance. The scholarship is primarily merit-based. These scholarship awards are part of a unique and prestigious program offered by the Avery Dennison Foundation to inspire the spirit of invention among college students

The winning Pilani Campus students’ names are Nishad Sahu (1st Year, Electrical and Electronics Engineering); Rituraj Mahendra Patil (1st Year, Manufacturing Engineering);Siddharth Mehta (1st Year, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering); and Sombuddha Chakravarty (1st Year, Electrical and Electronics Engineering).
