BITS Pilani Students Win a Competition in Smart India Hackathon

Team Cicada Crackers from BITS Pilani with its members Rohit K Bharadwaj, Sparsh Jain, Nayan Khanna, Keshav Sethi, Anushka Jain and Chinmay Hebbar won in Complex Category of Smart India Hackathon with a prize of Rs 1, 00,000/- The competition pertaining to Complex Category under the Ministry of MSME was held at Guwahati, Assam. The team of students built a Tsunami Alert System using Android and Web portal.

Smart India Hackathon is a 36 Hour Nonstop product development competitive event that was organized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. More than 2 Lac students participated in various competitions from all over India with their novel ideas to respond to various challenging problems presented by different ministries of Government of India. The Grand Finale was held in 48 centers all over India at the same time in which more than 34000 teams participated.
