I am an aspiring and motivated Ph.D. scholar from the Department of Biological Sciences, BITS Pilani, with a Master’s degree in Applied Microbiology from KIIT University. My research focuses on Natural Antisense Transcripts (NATs) in Plasmodium vivax malaria, where I investigate the interplay between DNA/RNA methylation and NAT-mediated regulation to uncover mechanisms underlying severe malaria. Working with clinical samples, I employ microarray, long-read, and short-read sequencing to explore transcriptional and translational controls, aiming to identify novel molecular targets for diagnostics and therapeutic interventions.


I have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards and grants, including DBT, ICMR, ICPvR, the ICGEB Fellowship, the Wellcome Connecting Science grant (2024), and the MPM Travel Award Honorable Mention (2025). I have presented my work at leading international conferences, such as the Molecular Biosystems Conference on Eukaryotic Gene Regulation & Functional Genomics (Chile, 2025), The Molecular Parasitology Meeting 2025 (USA), Non-coding RNA World 2024 (Switzerland) and The 9th International Conference on Plasmodium vivax Research (India). My publications include a recent article in Malaria Journal (2025) on the RNA methylome of Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax , alongside preprints on integrative transcriptomics and machine learning approaches in severe malaria. My ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between fundamental research and clinical application, ensuring that scientific insights translate into improved diagnostics, treatments, and patient outcomes in the fight against malaria.
