Overview
The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership popularly known as CEL, at BITS-PILANI, Hyderabad Campus is aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills among the students on campus. In the process of identifying, nurturing, training and establishing start-ups, CEL is doing a wide range of activities.
For nurturing their talent it conducts various workshops which range from Idea generation to setting up of a venture (associated with organizations like, BITSAA International, few NGOs). Apart from this, it organizes lectures of successful people from various fields to inspire the students. CEL has some on-campus start-ups to its credit like Trippin unlimited, Valonia, College Dhanda, Inc42, gadgetronica, LTGTR. Trippin unlimited had received a grant of one lakh rupees, under Manoj Saxena pre-seed funding (BITSAA International) for the year 2012. In the process of talent hunt, CEL conducts various competitions like Business Quizzes, ground reality etc., every year.
Apart from this CEL plays an active role in promoting social entrepreneurship. As a part of this, the students visit villages and conduct required skill development programs, health and hygiene awareness programs etc. BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus had organized its first TEDx talks on November 25th 2012.
CEL, in the Ist Semester 2012-2013, introduced a 3 credit course called New Venture Creation, with the help of BITS-SPARK (BITSAA International), which aims to bring in hands-on experience and real time learning, with the help of mentorship by BITS-SPARK Connect. The course had 8 teams consisting of 30 students. Classes were conducted by BITS-Alumni, who are well established entrepreneurs in various fields and settled in various parts of the world. The classes were conducted through Web-ex and were common across the three campuses in India. The team Valonia won one of the best teams prize from Hyderabad campus.

Some of the projects which the Slave Technologies have been working on are:
- Delivered a software application for the Eenadu group, which will be used on regular basis in their internal activities to save lot of man hours and increase productivity.
- Developing a product of its unique kind which is termed as Interactive-Ads that relates both entertainment and marketing in a single application for the top rated shopping arcades.
- Developed a software tool for a Government organization which would enable them save Rs. 25-30 lakh per annum.
- Developed a customized dictionary tool for Indic fonts that follow the grammatical and alphabetical rules of Indian language.
- Also working on development of augmented reality products which takes the human machine interaction to an entirely different level using 3D cameras like Microsoft Kinect.
