Dept of Management BITS Pilani successfully conducted the second edition of ICEBM on 17th and 18th of March. The theme of ICEBM 2017 was evidence based management and these two days of untrodden knowledge exposure and learning have intrigued both the student and the faculty fraternity. Here, we witnessed excellent knowledge dissemination of new ideas and innovations in diverse fields. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Shailendra Palviya who hailed from MDI Gurgaon. The occasion was graced by Prof A.K Sarkar, Director, BITS Pilani and our respected professor Dr. Leela Rani, HOD, BITS Pilani MBA Dept.
We always aim to educate our students with the
prevalent market scenarios and trends. Working towards it, BITS MBA organized a
two-day Statistical Analysis System workshop (SAS) on 26th and 27th of March.
It was led forward by our dear alumni Mr. Sachin Soni who provided his insights
on the subject. We thank the Alumni Relation Cell, Placement Committee and all
the students in transforming the workshop into a success.
Advanced Excel Workshop
MS-Excel is often referred to as the "bloodline" of an MBA graduate. Placement Committee of BITS MBA 2016-18 took initiative in organizing a full fledged Advanced Excel Workshop which was conducted by IB Institute, Delhi. Students got great insights moving from basic excel to advanced excel and also had first hand experience on VBA and MS Access.
The journey to INTERFACE'17 started with immense enthusiasm
and dedication. The tireless efforts of the students along with the focussed
guidance of the faculty led to the success of the 40th annual management fest.
The TVF Prof show marked a lavish beginning to the three day management
extravaganza. This year, we saw participation from the crème la crème bschools of
India. The flagship events like Kaliedoscope , Admania, Are you the one, You
are fired ,Finquest, Great Indian Business Competition experienced great
response from the participants. The winning teams belonged to tier 1 bschools
like ISB Hyderabad, IMI Delhi, IMT Ghaziaband, IIM Amritsar , BIMTECH Noida,
MICA Ahmadabad and our very own BITS Pilani. This Interface, we witnessed
insightful workshops organized by Zerodha, Trakinvest etc which surely
enlightened us on many management domains.
Eminent personalities like Mr. Monish Suri, Mr. Arjun Chakroborti, Dr.
Satyajit Majumdar, Mr. Partho Dasgupta, Mr. Deepak Bharara graced the occasion
with their knowledge and experience. Interface has been a legacy of BITS
Pilani. And this year ,we, the organizers of INTERFACE'17 are proud to state
that we have surely achieved success in keeping this legacy alive.
HR Conclave 2017
The Department of Management and Work Integrated Learning Programmes Division of BITS Pilani organized its first HR Conclave on 20th of January 2017 in Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. This event brought together eminent professionals who shared their years of expertise and knowledge in the field of human resources relating more to our topic “Bridging the Talent Gap: Opportunities and Challenges”. The panelists were widely diversified professionals with diversified insights to bridge the gap between opportunities and challenges. They exchanged their thoughts pertaining to the key issues of talent not being used efficiently in the industry and the various ways adopted by industries to bridge the gap.
Workshop on Financial Modelling
Finomaniac - The Finance Club of Department of Management, BITS Pilani under the guidance of the Department Of
Management, organized a workshop on Advanced Excel, Financial Modelling and Valuation.
Mr. Manoj Kumar and Mr. Ankur Gaur, from Investment Banking Institute Delhi, came down to Bits Pilani for conducting this three
day workshop. It was an enriching experience as it increased the knowledge base of the students. This
workshop also provided insights into the industry and equipped us with the skill sets that are demanded
by the industries and is the need of hour.
Guest Talk by Dr. Rajeshwari Narendran
Department of Management, BITS Pilani was privileged to host Dr Rajeshwari Narendran, Director, Academy of Human Resources Development, India
Dr Narendran is a PhD in Management and MBA, Andrew Towl Scholar - Harvard Business School. She has the distinction of being the first ever and youngest National President of Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi (2013-14) She is Professor HR/OB, M L Sukhadia University, Udaipur and Visiting Professor to Harvard
Business School, IIM Udaipur, IIM Ahmedabad and many Universities across the globe.
Project Management Professionals (PMP) Training
The Department Of Management, BITS Pilani recently organized a 35 hours session on Project Management Professionals training in the Pilani Campus. The training was conducted from 9th to 12th September 2016. The Trainer for the program was Mr K T Upadhyaya who is a PMI certified trainer and a veteran in Project Management.The 4 day training covered all concepts of Project management in detail with reference to the Project Management Body of knowledge (PMBOK) Guide and offered students an opportunity to acquire sound understanding of the subject with glimpses of real world application. Around 50 candidates participated in the program. This training is a mandatory requirement for appearing in the PMP certification examination conducted by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PMP certification is considered world over as the gold standard in project management and is one of the most important industry-recognized certification.
KPMG Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Training
The Department of Management ,BITS Pilani recently conducted Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification program.
The certification program is driven through Business Excellence practice and is well recognized throughout industry and academics. The training was conducted by KPMG which is the leading provider of Risk, Financial, Business advisory, Audit, Corporate Governance, Tax and Regulatory Services. Mr. Pradeep Chittemsetty, Management Consultant - Business Excellence, KPMG, who is a certified Master Black Belt in Six Sigma methodologies visited the BITS Pilani campus to conduct the training. The program was attended by participants from both MBA batches 2015-17 and 2016-18
