Hydraulic Machines Laboratory

Hydraulic Machines Laboratory

The laboratory is equipped with a number of experimental setups to study the fundamental and applied aspects hydraulic machines. These setups help demonstrating a variety of classical experimental and diagnostic techniques with the support of associated working principles. All the water based equipment operate in a closed loop system thus to conserve the water. Setups are also available for calibration of flow measuring devices meant for channels and pipes. A medium sized wind tunnel is available to conduct aerodynamic studies in a test section with 30 cm x 30 cm x 50 cm dimensions. Recently boundary layer apparatus and nozzle performance and distribution setups are purchased to support the Fluid Dynamics course. Besides undertaking the laboratory classes for first and higher degree students, this laboratory supports the study and design based research projects.
