I have been at BITS Pilani since year 2002. I started my teaching career at the Pilani campus and moved to the Goa campus in 2005. My research lies at the intersection of nonlinear dynamics, complex systems, and interdisciplinary applications. I have broadly been interested in understanding dynamical response and how collective behaviour emerges in networks of interacting dynamical systems. Such systems are abundant in the natural world - physical, biological, chemical systems, spread of infections and rumours, eco-systems and others. My focus has largely been on emergent phenomena in networks of neurons.
I have taught a large number of core physics courses at the M.Sc. level, Introductory Physics courses to science & engineering courses, PhD level courses, and also interdisciplinary courses - Nonlinear Dynamics, Theoretical neuroscience, Neural networks. I believe in pedagogy that promotes dialogue, interaction and thus encourages students to think & question in the class.
Over the last two decades I have held various positions from the department level to the Institute level. I have been involved in curriculum revisions, placement, Practice school, Teaching-Learning center and many others.
