- - Do the standard college curricula give our students who graduate with Bachelors / Masters degrees in science, a real understanding of how to practice science? Do our syllabi focus too heavily on content, often at the cost of the process of science? In my talk I will discuss the need for inculcating science process skills along with content knowledge in undergraduate students. I will make a case for using research as a teaching tool for this purpose. I will propose a few characteristic features that research as a teaching tool could have, and how it may aid in developing aspects like analytical skills, critical thinking, collaboration and teamwork, etc.
