Suchismita Satpathy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Science, at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. She is interested in sociological research in areas that include the political economy of urban space, urban governance, urban planning, and policies, smart city, right to city and citizenship, urban water management, gender issues in India, street vendors in Indian cities, urban segregation, urban architectural space, urban land use and, climatic resilience in coastal cities etc. She has experience in qualitative research. She has been a visiting faculty at the Centre for Public Policy and Governance at TISS Hyderabad RM campus during June 2016- April 2017. Apart from this, she was associated with the UGC e-pg pathshala Philosophy project, Department of Philosophy, University of Hyderabad. It produces online course material for the M.A. Philosophy students.
