Ongoing PhD Students:

As Supervisor: Ms. Madhusmita Sahoo (M.Sc. Polymer Science) joined in 2021 and is working on polymer-nanoparticle coatings for application as wound dressings.

As Co-Supervisor: Mr. G Sathish Kumar (M.Tech. Computational Biology) joined in 2023 and is working on computer-aided therapeutic peptide design.

As Co-Supervisor: Ms. Shreeti Chakravorty (M.Sc. Biotechnology) joined in 2024 and is working on electrochemical sensors for detection of bacteria.

Master's Alumni:

  • Mr. K. Avinash graduated in 2022. He did his Master's dissertation on Copper nanomaterial-based antimicrobial coatings. He is currently working as a Data Analyst.
  • Ms. Geetha Madhuri graduated in 2023. She did her dissertation (Co-supervisor: Dr. Nandini)on Nanopatterned surfaces for bacteria adhesion. 

Selected Undergraduate Alumni:

  • Ms. Vidula Rajain worked on developing a mathematical model for progression of SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans (Co-supervisor: Dr. Arnab). After graduation, she joined as an Associate Data Scientist at Pixis.
  • Ms. Shagun Mishra worked on developing machine-learning models for predicting activity of antimicrobial peptides (Co-supervisor, Supervisor: Dr. Arnab. After graduation, she joined ExxonMobil.
  • Ms. Samyuktha Kolluru worked on Copper nanomaterial-based antimicrobial coatings. She is now pursuing her PhD in Washington University at St. Louis.
  • Ms. Meghana Varanasi worked on polymeric coatings for wound healing application as well as electrochemical detection of bacterial enzymes (Co-supervisor: Dr. Ramendra). She joined Masters in Biomedical Engineering inn University of California San Diego.
  • Mr. Danush Sadasivam worked on computer-aided design of antimicrobial peptides (Co-supervisor, Supervisor: Dr. Arnab). After graduation, he pursued his Masters in AI & Chemical Engineering in Carnegie Mellon University.
  • Mr. Pranav Nambiar worked on developing machine-learning models for classification of antimicrobial peptides(Co-supervisor, Supervisor: Dr. Arnab). After graduation, he joined Reliance Industries Limited.
  • Mr. Pranshul Bhatnagar (Batch topper, class of 2023) worked on developing machine-learning models for predicting activity of antimicrobial peptides (Co-supervisor, Supervisor: Dr. Arnab). He joined as a Data Scientist at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
  • Mr. Hemachandra worked on developing machine-learning models for predicting activity of antimicrobial peptides (Co-supervisor, Supervisor: Dr. Arnab). He joined as a Business Analyst at Zomato.
  • Ms. Hemanti Biswas (Batch topper, Class of 2025) is worked on nanopatterned surfaces for prevention of bacterial adhesion (Co-supervisor: Dr. Nandini). She joined M.Tech in Chemical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. 
  • Mr. Hari Aditya worked on electrochemical detection of bacteria-secreted enzymes (Co-supervisor: Dr. Ramendra). He joined as a Business Development Officer in a Pharmaceutical R&D company.
