Prof Sunil Bhand is Senior professor (Research Track) and Project Director (2021-2027) for BITS BioCyTiH Foundation a Technology Innovation Hub funded by National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems NMICPS-DST GOI in the area of Bio-CPS to BITS Pilani. Prof Bhand has 70+ publications to his credit and also inventor in 20+ Patents ( 08 granted assigned to BITS Pilani, ICAR, DAE and CDAC). So far 13 PhD has been awarded under his supervision (03 as Co-Supervisor), 10 PhD ongoing (04 as co-supervisor) and one Post-Doctoral Fellows. Prof. Bhand has been able to secure significant external funding from Government and Industry with more than 25+ sponsored projects as PI and Co-PI funded by The World Bank, ICAR, ICMR, DST, DBT-BUILDER, CSIR, DAE, Min of Education GOI (SPARC), Birla Carbon, TATA Trust, Tea Board, 5 International (Swedish Research Council, The World Bank, Indo-Swedish SPARC Phase I & II), Indo-UK UKIERI. He had long standing research collaboration with Lund University Sweden, Linköping University Sweden, University of Perpignan France and University of Leeds UK. He has been appointed in various national/international committees (Research advisory Committee of ICAR, CIPHET Ludhiana Min of Agriculture for 3 year 2021-2024, appointed expert by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council BIRAC New Delhi for the panel Devices and Diagnostics for BIPP, SIBRI and PACE schemes (June 2023 to May 2026), Appointed member of the Scientific Panel SP -07 of Food Safety Standards Authority of India FSSAI Min. of Health and Family Welfare GOI (March 2026 to May 2026). Nominated member from India for CODEX Electronic Working Group CCFT18, Appointed PRISM Impact Review Committee of DSIR GOI. Expert at Indo -Russian Project Committee by DBT GOI. Indo French Project Committee of French Embassy for Red Biotechnology. Prof Bhand was elected Chairman of Indian Institute of Metals (Goa Chapter), Past Vice President Elect and nominated acting President of BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Society BGIIES , Technical Director BITS BIRAC Bio-NEST Inubator, Member Goa State Innovation Council IP Committee, Appointed expert for SPMVV Tirupati Incubator of DSIR and Member Education Committee of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry He has delivered more than 65 + invited/oral research lectures in various national and internationa conferences and organizer of several international bilateral Indo-Swiss, Indo-Swedish, Indo-Norway, Indo-Danish (etc. workshops and Conferences as Convenor/Chair/Co-Chair and National Conferences such as IIM -NMD ATM and Emerging Technology Micro to Nano, BARC School on Analytical Chemistry, STUTI -DST Workshop .etc.
