About the Faculty

I joined BITS in 2012 and have a background in Development Studies and Political Studies. I have been involved in teaching courses in Development and Political Theory. I have also been involved in restructuring the course on Technical Report Writing which I also teach.

Before joining BITS, I taught an introductory course in Humanities & Social Sciences to students pursuing a BA in Philosophy and assisted in designing and a course on Globalisation & Development at the Department of Sociology, Goa University. Prior to this, I worked at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), Delhi where I was involved with research projects examining democracy in South Asia and Indian electoral politics.

I have also been involved with some social issues. In particular I have occupied myself with overseeing, analysing and sometimes agitating against variants of the Goa Regional Plan - an attempt to develop a broad strategy for Goa's development which includes preparing a land-use plan.

I completed my PhD in 2019 in which I undertook a study of the Dynamics of Land-use Planning in Goa. I have an M.Phil. in Development Studies from the University of Oxford with a thesis on Economic-liberalisation and the Transformation of the City of Mumbai. I also have a Masters in International Studies and a BA in Economics from Goa University.
