PDA India Chapter - Annual Meet 2025

It was yet another an amazing opportunity for team DPIL to represent between 30 July to 01 August 2025 at HICC, Novotel, Hyderabad. The scholars, Ms. Kanan Panchal & Mr. Siddhant Padhi volunteered at this prestigious 3 day conference redeeming chance to network with the top senior management of the pharmaceutical industry. Prof. Akash Chaurasiya represented as the linker bridge between the industry & academia, being a part of the PDA's Board of Study. This year's annual meet was marked by Poster Presentation. Ms. Kanan Panchal had presented her research work on lyophilization optimization manufacturing technique for faster & efficient processing for which she won the prestigious Amit Sharma memorial award (first place).

Vidwanotsav 2025

The 3rd edition of Vidwanotsav initiated with an amazing inaugral event. It was a joyful fiesta filled with various sports, cultural and technical events. There was an active participation by the scholars of DPIL. Ms. Kanan Panchal was this year's Cultural Secretary organizing and hosting various events. The participation was marked by Ms. Kanan Panchal winning several medals including the first place in Poster presentation as well as our fresher scholar Mr. Yadu Pillai bagging one for his exceptional play at cricket.

Current Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences - National Symposium 2025

On April 28, 2025, we had the privilege of hosting the Diamond Jubilee celebrations at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, alongside a conference on Current Trends in Pharmaceuticals. It was an incredible day filled with inspiring talks, cutting-edge research, and a strong sense of community as we celebrated 60 years of innovation and academic excellence. Being part of both the celebrations and the conference was a truly memorable and meaningful experience.

GS-BTM-DST Sponsored National Conference on "Implication of Lyophilization on Biotechnology derived Products"

This was a keen and informative one day conference held on 22nd March 2025, organzied by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat, giving in deep insight on lyophilization. Prof. Akash Chaurasiya delivered an intriguing talk on “Lyophilization in Pharmaceutical Product Development: Techniques, Challenges and Future Trends” which was highly attended. The conference carried on with students oral presentations. Ms. Kanan Panchal represented DPIL in this competition where she won the first place. This truly was a fruitful outstation conference for team DPIL!

Vice Chancellor's Industrial Impact Award 2024

Dr. Akash Chaurasiya has been awarded the “Vice Chancellor’s Industrial Impact Award 2024” from the BITS Pilani leadership on 28th February, 2025. The initiation of the start-up venture, AtreVes Healthcare Pvt. Ltd, and his commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry, resulting in milestones such as industry-aligned curriculum design and teaching, and industry collaborative research initiatives, has resulted in him being bestowed with this recognition.

DPIL team attended the 8th Annual Conference of the Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX), hosted at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus between 23rd to 25th January, 2025. The event witnessed speakers from leading organizations and agencies sharing their insights in the field of DMPK Science. Ph.D. scholars Mr. Sumeet Katke, Ms. Kanan Panchal, Ms. Sonali Singh and Mr. Siddhant Padhi demonstrated their innovative scientific work to the attendees involving academic researchers and industry professionals. The icing on the cake included our researchers Ms. Kanan Panchal and Ms. Sonali Singh co-hosting the conference, displaying their management skills not being limited to technical research.

Budding scientists of DPIL presented their research work in the International Symposium cum Workshop on Translational Therapies for Cancer and Infections (TTCI-2024) held at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus on 22 Jul 2024. The event was meticulously curated with talks on translational therapies with plenary talks by Dr. Adam Mechler and Dr. Jimmy Hsia. The platform offered by this symposium to demonstrate the scientific research work was leveraged by Mr. Sumeet Katke, Ms. Kanan Panchal and Ms. Sonali Singh. This was indeed a cherishing moment for the team wherein Ms. Kanan Panchal was felicitated with the 'Best Poster' award for her research work as presented. Kudos to the Team DPIL!

3rd Vidwanotsav 2024

"All work and no play makes a mind dull as hay!" And to rightly defy this the zealous Ph.D. scholars of BITS Pilani - Hyderabad Campus successfully organized the 3rd edition of Vidwanotsav from 8th - 13th July 2024 in the campus. The fest was all-inclusive ranging from technical to sports and cultural events wherein scholars of TPRL actively participated in these events. Who knew our scholar would bag a gold at Antakshari!? DPIL believes this to be a reflection of its PI, Dr. Akash Chauraiya, who won a bronze medal in cricket. No wonder the life of a Ph.D. scholar is multifaceted.

13th International Colloids Conference, Elsevier

It was a moment of pride when Dr. Akash Chaurasiya and Ms. Kanan Panchal presented their research work at the 13th International Colloids Conference organized by Elsevier at Sitges, Barcelona, Spain from 9th - 12th June 2024. Also, Ms. Kanan Panchal was awarded the travel grant (under the International Travel Scheme) by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), DST, GoI. This insightful conference helped understand the depths of nano-beings - how they form, function, and behave on their turf. The event was attended by experts from academia/industry from various domains of colloidal sciences. The presented work was discussed with experts/participants with great enthusiasm and excitement for possible collaborations. The Journal of Colloid and Interface Science (JCIS) is the publication partner for this conference. No wonder, these talks and networking give one a direction or validate the path to push forward the frontiers of science across domains!

PDA Annual Meeting

The PDA India Chapter is a key branch of the Parenteral Drug Association, dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical science, regulation, and technology. The chapter plays a pivotal role in fostering knowledge exchange among professionals in the industry. Recently, our translational pharmaceutics and research lab team attended the PDA India Chapter Annual Conference as volunteers. The event, held at Hotel Novotel Hyderabad, focused on "Maintaining Quality and Compliance" in pharmaceutical processes. The conference offered a platform to explore the latest trends and challenges in ensuring high standards in drug development and manufacturing. Our research scholars, Mr. Sumeet Katke, Ms. Kanan Panchal, Ms. Sonali Singh, and Mr. Siddhant Padhi, along with master’s students Yadu, Shivani, and Rashmi, participated actively in the sessions. DPIL group’s Members recently attended the 22nd International Symposium on Advances in Technology and Business Potential of New Drug Delivery Systems, held on February 29th and March 1st, 2024, in Mumbai and presented posters highlighting their latest research and innovations. TechExpo for National Science Day, IIC

To acknowledge the innovations and keep up the scientific spirit Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of BITS Pilani - Hyderabad Campus organized the TechExpo for the National Science Day 2024 held on 28th February 2024 at the campus. Students from different disciplines, right from First degree to Ph.D. participated in this event with their innovative and ground-breaking ideas! Amongst them, Ms. Kanan Panchal represented TPRL and emerged as the winner for her innovative work on 'Development and Preclinical Evaluation of a Novel and Affordable Anti-fungal Drug-based Pharmaceutical Product'. DPIL congratulates her for this achievement!

The formulation of a spin-off start-up company, AtreVes Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. was a proud moment for DPIL. However, the cherry on the cake was Dr. Akash Chaurasiya and Ms. Kanan Panchal bagging the prestigious 23rd BIG support with a second rank from BIRAC/DBT, Govt. of India. This granted AtreVes Healthcare a sum total fund of Rs. 50 lakhs for their innovative project on 'Upscaling and preclinical evaluation for commercialization of a novel and affordable anti-fungal drug product'. Way to go ahead team AtreVes!
