Ramesh Vasan received his B.E. from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, USA.  His M.S. and Ph.D. works were mostly related to investigation of novel optoelectronic devices based on nanomaterials.  He was also the only graduate student in the EEE department responsible for teaching and managing full courses for over 3 years.  During this time he taught Electrical circuits (AC and DC), AC machines and transformers, and Basics of Electrical Engineering.  After graduation he moved to the UK and worked in the industry developing optoelectronic devices like NIR photodiodes, Quantum Dot LEDs and IR lasers.
