Collecting freight data from various facilities poses a significant challenge, particularly in regions where data resources are limited. Inadequate data availability hinders the ability to accurately estimate freight demand and understand freight trends within such regions. To address this issue, implementing novel statistical approaches, policy-making, technology intervention, and non-tradition approaches offer better solutions. My research investigates cost-effective strategies to enhance freight transportation infrastructure, thereby improving logistics and supply chain management efficiency.
Research Interests: Freight Demand Modelling, Transferability, Transport Policy, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in Transportation Planning
Thesis Title: Transferability Approach for Freight Data Measurement and Model Development in Resource-constrained Regions

Understanding passenger and freight travel behaviour are critical for transportation system analysis and operational planning that need to account for supply and demand dynamics. However, describing and predicting the behaviour of agents is extremely challenging. Sophisticated mathematical models are required to better represent individuals’ or firms’ decisions among mutually exclusive alternatives. The broad goal of my research is to better understand the interplay of agent behaviour with engineering, investment, and policy choices for energy-efficient transportation technologies.
