Assistant Professor,
Department of Physics

I am an experimental condensed matter physicist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Our group aims to discover, understand, and manipulate quantum states of matter using electrical transport, optoelectronics, and spectroscopic probes. We are particularly interested in 2D van der Waals materials, where atomically thin layers can be assembled and stacked with precise control over their chemical composition and relative lattice orientation. By controlling the interplay between different atomic layers, we aim to engineer new material properties and create novel quantum phases. Our current research interests include twistronics, optoelectronics, topological orders, and 2D magnetism.
Before joining BITS Pilani in July 2024, I was a postdoctoral researcher at SPEC, CEA Paris-Saclay, France, and previously at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. I received my Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2019.
