Biography
Ritesh Vyas is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Gr-I) with EEE Department, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus since August-2026. Prior to this, he was working as an Assistant Professor with Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar, India, from Sep 2022 to Jul 2026. Earlier, he was a Senior Research Associate with Lancaster University, U.K., from Sep-2020 to Sep-2022. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor (Gr-II) with Bennett University from Jul-2019 to Aug-2020. He received the M.Tech. and B.Tech. degrees in ECE from YMCA University of Science & Technology (now known as JCBUST), India, and Kurukshetra University, India, in 2012 and 2009, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the National Institute of Technology Delhi, India, in 2020. His areas of interest include biometrics, computer vision, image processing, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He is a Senior Individual Member of IEEE, INAE, member of ACM, and a life member of IUPRAI, IETE, and ISTE. He is also an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), U.K. He is the recipient of the research grant of Rs. 27.7 Lakhs under the ISRO-RESPOND scheme. He has received several reputed funding grants including DST-Accelerate Vigyan VRITIKA Research Internship, AICTE-Ministry of Education FDP on I&E, AICTE ATAL FDP, AICTE-VAANI Workshop, Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), and Soft Computing research Society (SCRS). He is an editor for Scientific Reports journal, Springer Nature, and guest editors of several special issues in reputed journals including Image & Vision Computing, Elsevier and ACM-TOMM.
