Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics

Hello, I am Rijubrata Kundu, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus. My research focuses on Group Theory and Algebraic Combinatorics. I am particularly interested in Linear Algebraic Groups, especially finite groups of Lie type, which are defined over finite fields. Additionally, I am interested in the theory of Complex Reflection Groups, including Classical Weyl groups, as well as the general theory of permutation groups.
Recently, I have developed a growing interest in the Representation Theory of Finite Groups, with a focus on Combinatorial Representation Theory. This area encompasses the representation theory of symmetric groups, alternating groups, finite wreath products, and their Schur covers, as well as the general and special linear groups over finite fields. There is a rich interplay between the representation theory of these groups and the combinatorics of symmetric functions.
I also have a keen interest in the theory of finite-dimensional Lie algebras.
