Recent Events in Department

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an Alumni talk on Sep. 29, 2022 during 5:00-6:00 PM in the NAB auditorium by Dr. Naesh Chand, Associate Vice President, IEEE Photonics Society New Jersey, the USA on the topic "Photonics and Optical Communication Networks".

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an Alumni talk on Sep. 26, 2022 during 5:00-6:00 PM by Mr. Rishi Mathur and Jyoti Arya on the topic "DRIVING FASTER, SMARTER NETWORKS - Brief introduction to communication SoCs enabling the highly interconnected world we live in today".

Dr. Pankaj Arora successfully conducted a 5-days Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Recent Advances in Photonics" sponsored by AICTE on November 25-29 November 2021 at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus.

Department of EEE, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus conducted an Online FDP/PDP titled " Intelligent and Collaborative Robotics"  from 13-17th September 2021 under AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy Programme. 

A one-day virtual symposium on "Recent Technological Advancement in Wide/Ultra-wide Bandgap Semiconductor Materials, Devices and Applications: A Step Towards Aatm Nirbhar Bharat" was conducted on April 10, 2021.

 An International virtual workshop on "Energy management in Smart Cities(EMSC) - 2021" was conducted on 25th-26th March, 2021.

 A virtual symposium on the theme "5G and Beyond Communications: Key Technologies and Role of AI", was organized on  20th March, 2021.

 A Virtual Symposium on the theme "RF and Microwave Propagation", was organized on January 30, 2021.

Recent Awards

Prof. Navneet Gupta, was awarded with Prof S. S. Ranganathan Memorial Teaching Excellence Award - 2022, in recognition of his excellence and consistent high standard of teaching at BITS Pilani, on 5 September 2022.
Kanika, Nitin Chaturvedi & S Gurunarayanan received Best Poster Award for the poster titled “Design of a programmable delay line with on-chip calibration to achieve immunity against process variation” presented at “The 26th International Symposium on VLSI Design and Test (VDAT-2022)” organized by Indian institute of Technology Jammu, 17-19 July 2022.
Prof. Navneet Gupta was awarded 'Outstanding Engineering Services to Society Award' by The Institution of Engineers (India), Rajasthan State Centre, Jaipur on 26th January 2021.

Invited Talks

Dr. Praveen Kumae A. V. delivered a talk on "Developing and teaching a course on EMI/EMC at BITS Pilani"  as part of the Training program "Hello EMI/EMC- Learn to detect and Decode"- two weeks training program organized by Department of Electronics, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala during 26th July-6th August 2021. 

Dr. Sandeep Joshi gave a talk on the topic "5G Communication Systems: Key Technologies and Role of AI" as an expert speaker for the online FDP on "Recent Trends of AI in Electronic Devices and Systems", at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.

Mohit Bohra, Dhruv Saith, and Dr. Sainath Bitragunta got the Best Paper award (academia) at the IEEE CONECCT 2021 conference for the paper entitled "Spectral efficiency optimization and analysis of time switching-based, energy harvesting spectrum sharing co-operative wireless system", in intelligent technologies track. The virtual conference was held in Bangalore during July 9-11, 2021.

Dr. Sainath Bitragunta is one of the finalists of the idea stage 5G security call for ideas initiative (jointly by the National Center of Excellence, Data Security Council of India, and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India). The program aimed at creating visibility ideas in 5G security to accelerate collaboration among startups, academia, and industry towards their production and deployment.   

Dr. Sandeep Joshi delivered an expert talk on the topic “Interference Modeling in 5G and Beyond Networks”, on 3rd June, 2021, for the ATAL sponsored FDP (Online) on “Internet of Things” at NIT Hamirpur.

Dr. Sainath Bitragunta delivered a talk on the topic “Green Vehicular Communication”, on 15th May, 2021, as an expert speaker for the IEEE VTS Workshop (Online) on “Enabling next generation automotive through safe and secure driving: mobility solution” at Bangalore.

Dr. Sandeep Joshi delivered a talk on the topic “Device-to-Device Communication in 5G Cellular Networks”, on 30th Apr., 2021, as an expert speaker for the Fourth-Short Term Training Programme (Online) on “AI & 5G Communication Technology” sponsored by AICTE-AQIS, at Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur.

Dr. Pankaj Arora delivered a guest lecture on the topic "Plasmonics for Optical sensing"  on April  13, 2021, organized by IIITDM Kancheepuram, Chennai (Tamilnadu).   

Aswin B, Utkarsh Tripathi and Vinay Chamola got the third prize in the 
2020 International BCI Competition held as a part of the 9th International Winter Conference on Brain-Computer Interface held at South Korea.  

Tejaswi Alladi working with Dr. Vinay Chamola got the Best Paper of the year award from IEEE Consumer Technology Society for his paper on "Consumer IoT: Security Vulnerability case studies and solutions" published in IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine.

 Dr. Sandeep Joshi delivered a talk on "Design Challenges in D2D Communications for 5G Networks'', on 3rd Dec. 2020, as an expert for the Workshop on "Design Challenges of IoT with AI and ML Applications'', at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur. 

 Dr. Sandeep Joshi delivered a talk on "D2D Communication, Modeling, Analysis, and Future Trends" on October 27, 2020, as a guest speaker for the inauguration of IEEE Photonics Society, Student Branch & Workshop on "Frontiers in Photonics", at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai.

 Prof. Surekha Bhanot delivered a keynote address on "Past, Present & Future of Industrial Automation" on October 5, 2020, as a chief guest of QIP-AICTE Sponsored ONLINE STC on Future of Industrial Automation (FIA – 2020) at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, Punjab.  

 Prof. Surekha Bhanot delivered a talk on the topic on " Integration of curriculum design in schools---Emphasizing Multidisciplinary Education with an Element of Choice"  on Sept 28, 2020, in  the webinar  “Naya Kshitij: NEP 2020 for Schools Implementation Preparedness, Challenges and Way-Forward in Schools of Rajasthan”  organized by TLC, BITS Pilani    

Prof. H.D. Mathur delivered an invited talk in a Short Term Course on "Industry 4.0-Industrial Automation Solutions and Applications" on "Application of IoT in Energy Management: A Smart City Perspective" at the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab. 24th September 2020.
