Nilanjana Goswami earned her Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. During her doctoral studies, she conducted a portion of her research at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, working under the guidance of Prof. Ulrich Oberdiek. Following the completion of her Ph.D, she pursued postdoctoral research at Brandeis University in the United States, for 9 months.

Nilanjana holds MA and M.Phil degrees, both obtained from JNU. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Calcutta, achieving first-class third rank.

Before joining the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Goa Campus (BITS), Nilanjana served as an Assistant Professor under the West Bengal Public Service Commission from 2014 to 2018. Currently, she holds the position of Assistant Professor in the HSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) department at BITS, Goa.

Her academic interests encompass Aging, Gender, and Education, reflecting her dedication to exploring and contributing to these fields of study.
