Prof. Rajesh Matai has been a faculty member in the Department of Management at BITS, Pilani, teaching business analytics, project management, prescriptive analytics, operations and supply chain management for the last 15 years. His research interests include facility layout/Location problems, the travelling salesman problem, Supply Chain Finance, agri-fresh supply chain, Circular Economy, and ICT adoption in the Indian Manufacturing MSME sector.
Prof. Matai has published research papers in leading International and national journals, such as the International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Applied Mathematics and Computation, Measuring Business Excellence, Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies, Journal of Modelling in Management and Vilakshan, as well as in reputable conference proceedings, including IEEM21 and IEEM23. He is a reviewer for many prominent journals such as the International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, Benchmarking: An International Journal, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management and International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management. At BITS Pilani, he has guided five Ph.D. Students so far.
Prof. Matai is a senior member of IEEE. He is also a member of INFORMS, POMS, the Analytics Society of India, the Soft Computing Research Society, the Institute of Engineers (India), and AIMS International.
