Asish Bera is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, India. He received Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and M.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, WB. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Intelligent Visual Computing Centre, Department of Computer Science, Edge Hill University, U.K.
His current research interests include applications of Deep Learning and Computer Vision. Some of his research works are multi-disciplinary, such as Agriculture, Sports, and Biomedical applications.
As a principal investigator (PI), he has received the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (ECRG-2024) funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), India.
Dr Bera is a Senior member of IEEE, and associated with several International Journals and Conference Committees.

Development of a Vision-Language Model for in situ Plant Health Diagnosis Using Visual and Soil Information
Master’s (M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Sc.) in CSE /IT /AI-ML /ECE or related fields with a minimum aggregate of 55% or 6.0/10 CGPA. Candidates currently appearing in the last semester of Master’s degree may also apply. NET/GATE qualified candidates are preferable.
