Dr. B. Vijayakumar joined BITS Pilani Dubai Campus during January 2003 and he is currently, a Professor in the department of Computer Science. He obtained his B.E. in EEE from NIT, Tiruchirappalli, India in 1984, M.E. in Systems & Information in 1990 from BITS Pilani, India and Ph D in CS in 2001 from BITS Pilani, India. He worked as Systems Executive and Senior Systems Executive with UP Electronics Corporation (UPTRON Lucknow) during 1985-1990. He served as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at Dept. of CSE, NIT Tiruchirappalli during 1991 to 2002. He has been the faculty advisor for the CSE dept’s annual symposium VORTEX 1995, 1996 and 2000 at NIT Tiruchirappalli.
His research interests include Distributed Database Systems, Cloud Computing, Automated Software Testing using Machine Learning, Knowledge Graph Based Recommender System, Software Engineering, Multimedia Information Retrieval, Web Data Mining. He has 60+ publications in refereed journals and conferences and has been the supervisor for 5 Ph.D. Scholars.
He has served as Program Chair for the International Conferences ICCTAM-2012, CINS-2023 held at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus in December 2012 / October 2023. He has also been the Reviewer and Sessions Chair for the International Conferences SKM-2014, CINS2024, MOSICOM2024, CINS2025, INTERSYS - 2024, 2025,2026 held at Dubai.
