Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Role: Supervisor
Dr. Ami Iqbal (April 2025-Till date): She is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Intern in the project titled "Advancing Pacemaker Technology Using Low-Cost, High-Efficiency Wireless Charging Systems to Eliminate Battery Replacement Surgeries." She holds a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, with expertise in microwave filter design, antenna systems, and electromagnetic simulations using tools like CST, HFSS, and IE3D. With a strong publication record in reputed journals and conferences, she brings significant academic and practical experience in RF and microwave systems to advance wireless power transfer technologies for biomedical applications.
Shankerannolla John Timothy (June 2025-Till date): He is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. scholar in Electrical Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, where he is working on the design and development of wireless charging coil pads for electric drone applications. His research is part of the externally funded project titled "Development of an Efficient, Misalignment-Tolerant Wireless Charging System to Extend the Range of Electric Drones," with a focus on improving the performance and reliability of inductive charging systems. Previously, he completed his Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics and Drives from BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. In addition, he is co-supervised by Prof. Ashutosh Mishra from BITS Pilani Dubai campus.
Molefi J Makhetha (Sep 2025-Till date): He is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. scholar in Electrical Engineering, working on computer vision-based localization of drone wireless charging pads under the externally funded research project titled "Development of an Efficient, Misalignment-Tolerant Wireless Charging System to Extend the Range of Electric Drones." His research aims to enhance alignment accuracy and operational efficiency in inductive wireless power transfer systems using advanced vision techniques. Previously, he served as a Lecturer’s Assistant and faculty member at the Central University of Technology and Durban University of Technology, contributing to teaching and laboratory instruction across various electrical and electronics engineering subjects. In addition, he is supervised by Prof. Ashutosh Mishra from BITS Pilani Dubai campus.
