Dr. Tavish Pattanayak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus.

He earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), where he specialized in uncertainty quantification methodologies, aircraft design optimization, multidisciplinary analysis, and scientific machine learning at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL). His research sits at the vital intersection of multi-disciplinary design optimization (MDO), uncertainty quantification (UQ), and sustainable transportation systems through cross-disciplinary engineering collaborations.

Dr. Pattanayak’s work focuses on developing robust data-driven frameworks to tackle complex engineering challenges, particularly in the aviation section. At BITS Pilani Dubai, he combines his industry-facing research background with a passion for mentoring the next generation of aerospace and mechanical engineers.
