Dr. Debapriya Sarkar is an accomplished researcher and academician specializing in Molecular Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Biofuels, Waste Valorization, and Environmental Biotechnology. With a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, his work focuses on innovative waste-to-energy solutions, microbial strain improvement, and bioprocess optimization for sustainable bioethanol production.
He has published 19 international, peer-reviewed research articles, authored 10 book chapters, and holds a published patent on biodegradable sanitary products. His research contributions have garnered over 500 citations, with an h-index of 13 and an i10-index of 15.
Dr. Sarkar has substantial teaching experience, including subjects like Recombinant DNA Technology, Industrial Microbiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioinformatics for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
