About DST-Technology Enabling Center
The Technology Translation and Innovation (TTI) Division of the DST, Government of India has been implementing Technology related programmes. The establishment of Technology Enabling Centres (TEC) in the University System is a step to promote a technology-enabling ecosystem in the academic system. The objective of TEC will be to create a regional ecosystem to promote a culture of innovation and indigenous technology development in the Universities and to provide a platform to network researchers with other institutes, national laboratories and institutionalize industry-academia partnership. The focus of Centres will be on boosting an enabling ecosystem, process, and support system that will lead to generation of new ideas, its protection and commercialization.
About BITS TEC
BITS-TEC is established at BITS Pilani with generous support from the Technology Translation and Innovation (TTI) Division of the DST, Government of India. BITS TEC as an innovation enabling HUB catalyzes the ecosystem by bringing together the regional academic institutes, R & D institutions, industry, MSMEs, start-ups, and incubators on a common platform for enabling research, innovation, technology development, improvement, and commercialization while leveraging its core strength of strong industry engagement.
BITS TEC will impart the best practices in research, innovation and technology management through structured policy support and its implementation, IP creation and protection, technology improvement, product development and validation leading to tech-commercialization.
