About Workshop

This training programme has been specially designed considering the norms/guidelines of CCSEA, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, as well as the international standards so that the investigator authorized for carrying out experimental and other scientific procedures on laboratory animals should be adequately educated in animal ethics & welfare, and well trained before performing any animal procedures to avoid unnecessary pain and suffering to the animals before, during and after the procedures.

Considering this training and education as a most essential need in animal research, this workshop will provide a comprehensive basic understanding of regulatory guidelines, animal ethics and hands- on learning in Animal Handling & Experimentation” under the supervision of experts in one-week training programme. Use of laboratory animals in research is an important privilege accompanied by a great ethical responsibility to ensure humane care and use of these valuable creatures. In this course researchers will have to undergo a classroom as well as practical training. To put it in a nutshell, it is a holistic approach for understanding of animal research
