 Drug Metabolism and Toxicity Prediction
Toxicity related to drug metabolism is still a major factor for drug candidate failure in discovery projects and clinical trials.  This reduces the overall productivity and ultimate benefit to the patients.  Thus early prediction of drug metabolism and associated liabilities still remains a high priority and challenging task for Pharmaceutical companies and academic research groups.
Our aim is to develop novel drug metabolism prediction methodologies using computational and to some extent experimental methods. The following figure depicts the current need in this area highlighted in recently published review article on the topic. (Dixit, V. A., Lal, L. A. and Agrawal, S. R. (2017), Recent advances in the prediction of non‐CYP450‐mediated drug metabolism. WIREs Comput Mol Sci, 7: e1323. doi:10.1002/wcms.1323
